USB讀卡器常壞的原因可能你買到COB(Chip On Board)封裝的讀卡器，俗稱牛屎封裝，大多低成本的讀卡器都是用這類封裝，就是把IC(integrated circuit)直接做到線路板上，因機械強度和物理強度不高，相比標準IC封裝形式更容易損壞，比如相同的摔碰，都是COB較容易損壞，但COB封裝的優點是封裝成本低，壞處是壞了沒法維修。
